Bollywood Movie Cocktail review

Finally came the moment when the much awaited movie of the year Cocktail released and hit the theatres and however be the movie, one thing that I can tell you for sure is that nearly every theatre that is hosting this movie has been booked from bottom seat to the topmost seat for atleast a whole week in advance. There are no more tickets left and this is not just here it's the case with most places. That gives atleast a hint as to how the movie reviews are.

But you'll be surprised to hear that the maximum rating this movie has got from its critics is not more than 3 and a half stars. The reason for this is quite obvious; cocktail is good but not upto expectations. It's a different movie in terms of genre, story as well as taste but the movie doesn't live upto the mark and many people are disappointed with the second half of the story cocktail.

The trailers of Cocktail have been out since long along with the music videos of Cocktail like Tumhi ho bandu and Daaru desi and they give just enough idea as to what the movie has to serve to us. Love triangles are quite common, two guys and a girl is the common talk but a guy and two beautiful girls, not new but still has a spark to it taking into account the starcast of cocktail.

Saif Ali Khan has done a tremendous role of a 20 year old and his acting alone is just wonderful. But the movie has the most significant shade of Deepika Padukone's personality. The bold and sexy rich girl enjoying booze in the bars of London in her free time and roaming about in short modern clothes is definitely a brand new avatar of Deepika in concktail. But the third lead is shown as pretty simple and sweet traditional Indian girl and the role is played by Diany Penty as her debut role. She's got a great role but with Deepika by her side she might seem a bit faded in the sense of character. Also the second half includes her doing a stint of emotional scenes which are really one of the serious reasons why this movie is being criticised by the viewers. The theme of the movie Cocktail was simple and known, but the depiction was what the viewers long for. Totally different movies are quite rare and most movies are just based upon a single factor of genre. Take for instance, the recent movies of Salman Khan which have been just focussed upon showing him throwing people flying in the air. They work just because Dabangg was different compared to Wanted not just because of different stories but with the concepts and story development.

This is where the cocktail got tasteless. The first half of the movie promises an awesome experience with simple lives of three bold adult friends living together in London and friendship being the core, it's a pleasure to watch but as the story proceeds and as expected, the love portion of the script comes into play that's where the direction of cocktail gets way worse than expected. It gets complicated and tasteless as it reaches its end and the crew has failed to keep the various elements of the movie in control. Overall the review of cocktail are average and better than so many movies but not all those movies were expected to be great like Cocktail.

It's just lacking something!

The music although has done better than the expectations of everyone. Pritam has provided a literally fantabulous listening experience and the songs of Hindi Movie cocktail have already covered their places among the music leader boards. The beats and rhythm have done just their magic over the music lovers all over the country.

Every movie has its pros and cons and so does Cocktail as it's a mix of emotions, great acting, fantastic music and nice depiction of such a historical love concept in the modern world but gets offbeat after a while.

Anyways having said that I still believe its still worth getting out in this hot climate and grabbing a seat in a PVR or a multiplex for a relaxing sip of soft drink and passing a nice three-hour duration.
