Yuvraj Singh lost the toss to Gill Christ. Kings XI opted to bat first.

Gill Christ being the captain of the team got out at 1 run or so was very sad to watch. However, they could pull the game with other players and made a decent score of 112/8.

Praveen Kumar dismissed Smith on the very first ball was a shock and looked like a bad beginning. But Ruder and Manhas created a good partnership giving 31 and 35 runs. Yuvraj was in his best form and not out with 21 runs. Robbin Uthappa' solid support to Yuvraj with 22 not out with 2 sixes got him the Most sixer award.

Shrikanth Wagh Shrikanth Wagh's contribution of 3 wickets and 16 runs fetched him the Man of the Match award.

The cheer girls of Pune Warriors were all clad in traditional saris and decked up in typical Maharashtrian style.

It is a good beginning for the debut team in IPL and let us wish them all the best.
