Verdict on Babri Masjid on September 24

This time all political parties, religious organizations and NGOs are united so that no unwanted situation arises after the verdict of Allahabad high court on Babri Masjid.

Allahabad high court is expected to give its order on the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute on September 24. From Shiv Sena, executive president Uddhav Thackeray has taken special efforts to maintain peace on that day. He appealed his party activists to maintain peace. Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting with party leaders and instructed them to maintain peace and cooperate with the Government after the verdict.

Babri Masjid was a mosque in Ayodhya. It was destroyed in 1992 by political rally which ultimately developed into a riot in many major cities of India. More than 2000 people were killed. Mumbai was the most affected city in that riot.

This time Mumbai don't want any incidents of communal violence. Members of a group, Ekta Welfare Association have also taken initiative to maintain peace in Mumbai. They met DGP and asked to hold a meeting with all religious organizations so that no unwanted situation arises after the verdict.

Muslim NGOs addressed a press conference on Friday. They have suggested the mohalla committees to be active during this time to maintain law and order. They have suggested police for mobilisation of police at towns - Bhiwandi, Malegaon, Jalna and Parbhani that are prone to communal riots.
